The past two weeks have been nothing short of extraordinary for our students at Jalaram Academy, as they participated in two prestigious diplomatic debates—the Middle School Model United Nations (MSMUN) and the Model United Nations (MUN)—held at the United Nations Headquarters in Nairobi. These events provided a platform for our young diplomats to engage in high-level discussions, collaborate with peers from around the Country, and showcase their leadership skills on an international stage.

MSMUN: Setting the Stage for Excellence

The first event, MSMUN, took place from 27th to 31st January 2025, and our students hit the ground running. Representing various countries and committees, they delved into critical global issues such as Security council, Human rights, among others. With confidence and eloquence, they presented well-researched arguments, negotiated resolutions, and demonstrated a deep understanding of complex geopolitical dynamics.
One of the highlights of MSUN was the active participation of our students in drafting and debating resolutions. Their ability to collaborate with delegates from diverse backgrounds while staying true to their values and perspectives was truly commendable.
MUN: Building on the Momentum

Following the success of MSMUN, our students transitioned seamlessly into the MUN, held from 3rd to 7th February 2025. This event brought together an even larger gathering of young leaders, and our students rose to the occasion with unwavering determination. They tackled pressing global challenges, including International court of justice, Special summit, among others with poise and intellectual rigor.
What stood out during MUN was our students’ ability to think critically and adapt to evolving discussions. They not only defended their assigned countries’ positions but also proposed innovative solutions that reflected a balance between national interests and global cooperation.
A Testament to Local Roots and Global Reach
While our students excelled on the global stage, they never lost sight of their local roots. They carried with them the values of empathy, integrity, and inclusivity that are at the core of Jalaram Academy’s ethos. Their performances were a testament to the school’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals who are not only academically proficient but also socially conscious and globally aware.
Shaping the Future of Diplomacy
As our students return from this transformative experience, they bring back more than just memories. They bring a renewed sense of purpose and a deeper understanding of their role as global citizens. Their participation in MSMUN and MUN has not only enhanced their diplomatic and leadership skills but has also inspired them to continue working towards a more just and sustainable world.
The journey doesn’t end here. With the lessons learned and connections made, our students are now more equipped than ever to contribute meaningfully to their communities and beyond. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and look forward to seeing how they will shape the future of diplomacy and global leadership.
Here’s to the next chapter of their journey—one that promises to be even more impactful!
