The Nursery section of Jalaram Academy marked a memorable milestone on 26th June 2026 with the graduation ceremony for the Reception class of 2026. This event was more than just a celebration of young learners moving forward; it was a reflection on how time shapes our lives and learning. Opening and Welcoming Remarks

The ceremony began with warm opening remarks from the master of ceremonies, Ms. Tillen. She set a lively tone, engaging the audience with her cheerful presence and clear enthusiasm for the day’s events. Following her, Ms. Anastacia Oduol, the head of the Nursery section, welcomed everyone with heartfelt words. She praised the children for their progress and resilience, highlighting the importance of early education as a foundation for lifelong learning.

Mr. Ravi Singh, the Senior Principal of Jalaram Academy, also addressed the gathering. His remarks focused on the school’s commitment to nurturing young minds and adapting to the changing educational landscape. He emphasized how the Nursery section plays a crucial role in shaping students’ attitudes toward learning and growth.

The Theme of the Ceremony: Time and Change

The graduation ceremony carried a unique theme called TBT (Throwback Thursday), which creatively explored how life and learning have evolved over time. The Nursery section’s performance was a highlight, illustrating the contrast between the olden days and the present.

The children acted out scenes showing how people once lived and worked communally, sharing tasks and learning through direct interaction. This was followed by a depiction of modern life, where technology dominates daily activities. The performance showed how many tasks now happen online, from shopping to communication, and even how students rely heavily on artificial intelligence tools.

This theme sparked reflection on how technology affects learning habits. The play humorously pointed out that some students today might spend more time socializing and partying than studying, relying on AI for their schoolwork. This message encouraged parents and teachers to think about balancing technology use with active learning and personal development.

Key Moments and Performances

Several moments stood out during the ceremony:

  • Songs and Dances: The children performed songs that celebrated friendship, growth, and the joy of learning.

  • Parents’ Appreciation: A few parents shared their gratitude for the teachers’ dedication and the school’s supportive environment.

  • Award Presentation: Each child received a certificate marking their successful completion of the Nursery section.

The performances were lively and heartfelt, showing the children’s confidence and the strong bond they have with their teachers and classmates.

Reflections on Early Childhood Education and Technology

The ceremony’s theme opened a valuable conversation about how early childhood education must adapt to the digital age. While technology offers many tools to enhance learning, it also presents challenges. For example:

  • Children may become too dependent on devices and AI, which can limit their creativity and problem-solving skills.

  • Social skills and physical activities remain essential for healthy development.

  • Teachers and parents need to guide children in using technology responsibly and purposefully.

Jalaram Academy’s Nursery section demonstrates a balanced approach by combining traditional learning methods with modern tools. This helps children build a strong foundation while preparing them for a world where technology plays a big role.

Moving Forward with Confidence

The Nursery graduation ceremony was a joyful reminder of how much children grow in a short time. It also showed the importance of celebrating milestones and encouraging young learners to embrace change while holding on to valuable lessons from the past.

Parents and educators left the event inspired to support the children’s next steps with care and attention. The Reception class of 2026 is now ready to move into primary school, equipped with new skills and a sense of achievement.

This event encourages all of us to think about how we balance tradition and innovation in education. By doing so, we can help children become confident, curious, and responsible learners.
